Each of our 41 bright and comfortable bedrooms is decorated and furnished with a homely feel. However, we encourage our residents to bring personal belongings and small furnishings to make their rooms a true home-from-home. Bringing pictures of loved ones and treasured ornaments are popular choices for the people we support; we love hearing the stories behind them!

While our main lounges are often abuzz with activities and social gatherings, our conservatory area offers a peaceful spot to read a good book or newspaper whilst enjoying views of our stunning courtyard garden. It’s ideal for enjoying some ‘me’ time in quiet surroundings or more private catch-up time with friends and family.
An Active Social Life

Our dedicated activities team are the life and soul of the Rookery. From our famously fun gentle exercise classes to colourful crafts, and a good old sing-along, there is always something to look forward to. We take great pride in getting to know our residents’ interests and hobbies and build this into our activities programme, with plenty of opportunities to find new things to enjoy.
Hair Salon
HAIR SALON
Weekly trips to the salon don’t have to stop after moving into a care home! Our residents at The Rookery Care Home enjoy being pampered in our on-site hair salon, with weekly appointments available with our visiting professional hairdresser. Although professional hair appointments incur an extra charge (please ask our home manager for information), hand massages and nail treatments are often offered as part of our regular activities programme.
Tranquil Courtyard Garden
TRANQUIL COURTYARD GARDEN
During the warmer months, our colourful courtyard garden becomes the hub of our home. Raised planters enable our resident gardening enthusiasts to continue their hobby and contribute to our beautiful floral displays. June, July and August see our courtyard garden come to life with live music, family visits and our summer fair.
Home Cooking and Baking
HOME COOKING AND BAKING
Our catering team work to create nutritious and tasty meals for our residents with plenty of variety. We listen to our residents’ suggestions and incorporate these into our menus, ensuring homemade favourites are a staple of mealtimes at the Rookery. Our residents also just love to indulge in our home-baked cakes and scones!
