Residents recently enjoyed a visit from Animals Interactive, who brought along a range of trained therapy animals for an afternoon of gentle interaction and companionship.
The visit gave residents the opportunity to get up close with a wide variety of animals, including a snake, guinea pig, spider, owl, rabbit and a bearded dragon, among others.
Many residents took the chance to hold, stroke and learn more about the animals, with staff on hand to support and guide the interactions.
The session created a calm and engaging environment, with plenty of smiles and conversation throughout.
Animal visits like this can have a positive impact, helping to spark memories and encourage interaction. For some residents, the experience brought back fond memories of pets from earlier in life, while others simply enjoyed the chance to try something a little different.
The visit was well received across the home, with residents and staff alike enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and the unique experience of spending time with the animals.
